Dear Charlie,
After further study of rmo and its historical interface with you and
Lenny I have decided to proceed with the design of a new Google opera
discussion group. The central feature of the new group is a singers
hall of fame theme. Members recommend a particular singer for H.O.F.
membership and upload a clip of the singer's work. Other group
members
may discuss and debate the >Nominee's merits

The key here, is other members' *ability and willingness* to discuss
'Nominee's' and other ON-Topic matters - *without veering-off toward
other posters and how they post, etc.

Ed's Group does nicely, albeit somewhat underactive at times.

As to RMO, and I'm putting it very politely here - *failures in the
areas I've mentioned, are exactly what brought RMO to its present
condition, and will surely keep it there.

Committee (comprised of the Owners, you and Lenny, and any other
experts whom you may select) evaluate the arguments and make a final
decision on the Nominee's permanent Hall of Fame membership.

The new group will also have other features usual to such a group -
but the Hall of Fame and its rigourous debate opportunities is, as I
see it, the magnet that will attract a flood of knowledgeable
members.
The design work is completed but the Group is not yet launched. I am
the interim owner, but as soon as you and Lenny join I will appoint
you two as owners and step down to regular membership status. I shall
be interested in your thoughts on the design features I have
described
and any others you would like to see incorporated.
