Sirius Forza 1952

LORD!!! Sirius is playing one of the greatest Met broadcasts..Forza
1952 with Milanov,Tucker,Warren,Hines (I saw this cast in 1956 except
Siepi-BETTER) as Guardiano..
Warren just completed the cabaletta with that amazing high A flat that
used to rock the house....but it made me sad, because the night we saw
his untimely death on stage, he never got to this point..His last
words were, "E salvo..o gioja")
Now we have at this moment the entrance of Tucker in that sometimes
cut "Ne gustare m'e dato" scene with Warren. I tell you......It is a
sensation.....Tucker shone so brightly here..I always went
bananas....Those ringing high notes brought down the house..not to
mention the beautiful lyric-legato singing...something that some
people do not seem to mention..just because he may have his
mannerisms....like Gigli and Corelli....but the Jews(like me) get bad
raps(!!!!!). Just because he carried over some "Cantorial"
elements...so what...his singing was so phenomenal.....
Anyway, this is the great Milanov at her peak...and the
performanceis one of the all-time greatest.
