Hey....I think I learned a lot of Italian from
Verdi,Puccini,Mussolini,etc...and never studied it.
SOCMEL CHE SCEMACCIO!!
He doesn't even know how to form a past tense in the first person
singular. Everything here is wrong: it is the way a small American
child, with a dictionary, would try to write in Italian.
Please, tell me that it is not true, that this FESSO teaches in public
schools!

Sein Deutsch ist leide noch schlechter! (keine Uberraschung)
I am sure that despite some of his misleading posts that he does NOT
teach Italian in public schools. We have reasonably high standards in
New York City, and one would need a minimum number of college credits
in a language to obtain a licence to teach it. One would also need a
Master's degree, and college credits in education. As far as I know,
Charles has none of these. ( I have 15 credits in German, which is not
sufficient.)

I have taught Spanish,Italian,French,and ESL........and anyone who
doubts my ability can take a leap off the Tower of Pizza.
Amazing...more and more haters are surfacing....I am finding that the
latest posts show how much they need me..so keep it up folks........CH- Hide quoted text -

I do not doubt that you have taught languages in which you are far
less than fluent. Anyone can tutor. What I stated was that you could
not be a language teacher in a New York City public school! You may
occasionally be invited in as a guest instructor for 11 year olds;
they probably appreciate it. Someone who knows no Italian (or French,
German, Spanish) at all could certainly learn some from you. In fact,
I have heard you sing in German, and your pronunciation is not awful.
So enlighten us. To whom, and under what circumstances have you
taught French?
Were you employed to do so by the City of New York, as a licensed
teacher of foreign languages?

I taught mostly Spanish..my major..for 30 yrs...
Had enough French and knew enough Italian to teach them on high school
level..up to second year only.
I am curious as to how one get a degree in a foreign language without
spending time in a country where that is the main language

(this is not a personal attack; I genuinely thought it was a
prerequisite of learning a language even below degree level to have had
an extended period of having to live and work in the language)- Hide quoted text -

No one has to spend time in another country..that is sheer
nonsense..you need to call the bd.Of ed and ask them about this..they
would laugh at you as i do..ch

Seriously, you get a degree in a foreign language without ever been exposed to it being spoken all around you? Isn't that like getting a music degree without ever having performed in front of an audience?
