Hear for yourself. Here is the young Sherrill Milnes singing Miller's
aria and cabaletta from Verdi's Luisa Miller. You already know my
opinion of his singing. Please listen and tell me your opinion.

Well, I've listened to it several times now, and I really don't hear much wrong with it. He's miked far too closely, which will always be unflattering, but apart from that I just don't hear the terrible vocalisation that you are convinced is there. I've certainly heard far worse from other baritones who receive far more praise here than Milnes.

To be honest, Ed, I'm staggered that you would go to the trouble of creating a podcast to try to prove that any singer had "a fraud of a creer", especially when there is so much recorded evidence to the contrary.

Still, never mind - we'll always have Netrebko, Carreras, and Siepi in common!
