I may add the majority of the membership so far seems to be European,
and nowhere in Europe has a zip code as far as I am aware. I don't
think this is a matter to get too paranoid about, many places on line
ask for postal codes. Some I give my real code, some I don't, it
depends on what I want from the site.

It's not a case of getting paranoid. It's more a case of 'Are you
registered with the Information Commissioner, and if not, who will pay
the fine for non-registration?'.

I'm sick and tired of organisations online and offline asking for
information which is neither necessary to their needs nor in compliance
with law. So I make the choice of not giving information. In this case,
that choice means one less member for your forum. I shrug and I expect
you do too.

The fact that you happily accept false info proves that it isn't
necessary. So why ask for it? Presumably because your site includes
software from the outside the EU, so that information is being stored by
a third party, outside the EU, without any disclosure of who is storing
the info, which is in itself illegal.

What in God's name are you talking about?? Get a grip woman, I never
read such paranoid nonsense in my whole life, My Site is part of a
huge network of amateur forums, it's not some mafia operation!! I
don't need any license or any permissions of any kind. If you don't
wish tp supply the registration information you don't have to join,
it's as simple as that. In fact I don't want you or people like you to
join. You need help.

But before you go to the CIA I suggest you go tohttp://www.freeforums.org/

Good one Rod... You've won me over...

Best regards

John
