Re: Manon opening night at the Met
We have had nothing but the varying strengths and trajectory of Mlle. Rita
on British TV news all week long. I think most of the BBC's foreign
correspondents have been diverted there willy-nilly ( God knows mine has
been, straight from the German election too, meaning no conjugal visit for
yours truly in the interim, harrummpphh.)
I thought it was being downgraded somewhat, no ? Well, useless as it may
well seem to you ( in the US ) I sincerely hope it manages to miss
Galveston, all the oil refineries, and poor old Louisiana and just trundle
inland somewhere nice and deserted and in need of a drop of rain anyway.
SJT, checking the "Rodelinda" and "Fidelio" dates too.
