I don't use the terms that Doc claims I use.
Perhaps not exact verbatim terms but same basic message. Not worth
going into in detail to correct your selective memory. Were I to
dig up old posts, it wouldn't make a difference, I suspect you'd refuse
to acknowledge it, not worth the effort. I suspect a lot of your attitude
was due to my comments about Miles, who I didn't and still don't care
for. It seemed that to you it went way beyond a mere difference in taste
or opinion, I was daring to critique an "icon" and find him lacking.
Though it had nothing to do with you or your playing, you seemed to take it
as a personal affront.
From there on, your comments in response to my posts were often
examples of non-objective sniping. As a brief example, I asked if anyone
knew of a Chris Botti album that better demonstrated his playing than the
one I had. Rather than take the query at face value and responding to what
was actually said - if in fact you felt you had to respond at all - you
treated it as a comprehensive denigration of all that is Chris Botti. Never
said he couldn't play, but that I really couldn't tell much from that
particular album. I was seeking information, you apparently took it as
your cue to take shots. Annoying, but hardly enough to ruin my day.
Any commentary I made about your playing was complimentary, however
this was met with indifference or continued surliness. Not sure how painful
a "hey thanks" would have been. Obviously you weren't interested in
establishing a different rapport. Okay, whatever, quite frankly it's not
that important to me.
I don't know Doc, but he sure has a lot to say about
me...
Certainly not "a lot" but any commentary is based on what I've observed
here, period. Don't know you from Adam otherwise.
Sorry if you don't care to read honest commentary that disagrees with your
opinions. I recognize this as a fact of life on Usenet. I'm not sure how
much appeal it would have if it were otherwise, but hey. Fact is, I
don't have a problem with simply ignoring your existence.
