YTR-4335???? and wouldn't a different horn...sound well..you guys
know... be out of place in a Yamaha only band????

Also keep in mind...that I was about to pay $699 for a brand new
Yamaha...the Holton...well...it is new but less than $300!!! There has
to be a quality/sound difference some where????

my son is only 11 years old...but he thinks the Holton sounds cool and
the Yamaha is lifeless...whatever...I need the help of you guys that
work/play with horns...what's your opinions?

I expect you will get opinions for and against each of these horns. I
do not have experience with the Yamaha, but my 12 year old son plays a
Holton T602. I find the T602 to be a good beginner level horn with a
good tone, good intonation, well built with quick valve action. This
horn keeps a good tone when played loud or soft. By that way, $300 for
a new Holton T602 is an excellent price. Prowinds.com wants $699.00.

I think the Yamaha is designed to be a step horn and should be a better
performer that the Holton. Did you son use his regular mouthpiece with
each horn?
