Re: OB3 Demo MP3?

Is it a desktop box with a set of drawbars and controls on the front panel,
with no need to dig around in menus? If not, then I'm not interested. I can
dig in menus if I have to for my synths, but I like a WYSIWIG interface for
organ modules, and they have to have attached drawbars -- no midi connected
controllers, as that path lies to madness with all the merging and stuff.

What kind of good prices? I really like mine, and I'd consider buying a

It's not a Hammond tonewheel organ, but it's damned close. The OB3^2
has
more features, but it's also probably more expensive.

About the only thing I've heard that sounds better is a real hammond or
the
Viscount model they came out with right after the OB3.

If I had anything recorded with mine, I'd send you a file, but it's in
the
shop (took a nasty fall) right now so I can't record the thing.

Anyone know of an audio clip demonstrating the Oberheim OB3 B3
emulator? I'm thinking of buying a clonewheel and I've seen some good
prices on used OB3's but I've never actually heard one.

TIA

I ended up getting mine for $350 in perfect cosmetic and electronic
condition. I saw another one go for $202.50 which "has a high output
and runs better after warming up for 15 minutes".

It is my understanding that other than the brand name and the color of
the case, the oberheim and viscount units are identical.
