I'm sure the card connectors needed to be replaced! It's just that the
fellow who replaced them apparently used some that lacked a screw that
holds the card in place. You've seen inside yours, I'm sure you know
the screws I'm talking about. These cards were basically just swinging
in the sockets!
The tech who replaced my connectors as well as who replaced one of the
dividers when it went bad, is a very capable and accomplished tech in
Saint Paul who has been an analog synth repair tech since the 70s, and
has been employed by several well known celebrities... I'd say I was
lucky, but I also paid for that luck. : ) He complained about how
time consuming it was... in fact, I think he got sick of working on the
danged thing at one point. : )
