Hi HellPope Huey,

I turned off the Program change message on the digitial piano, but that
seems to have no effect. In fact, I tinkered around with the MIDI
settings on both the controlling keyboard (Yamaha digital piano P-60)
and with the PSR, but unfortunately I have not come across the answer.
I guess I'm making the wrong adjustments, or there is something else
I'm missing.

Hopefully someone could point me in the right direction on what kind of
adjustments I need to make, but here are the MIDI parameters that can
be adjusted on the digital piano and that Yamaha PSR-290:

Yamaha P-60 digital piano

MIDI transmit/receive channel selection
Local control on/off
Program change on/off
control change on/off

Yamaha PSR-290:
local control on/off
using initial setup with sequencer
external clock
bulk data send
keyboard out
style out
song out

thanks
