Hi,
I just found my collection of Reader's Tapes and have pulled them off
into .wav files using my MBox2. I'm converting them to variable bit
rate mp3s.

The quality of recordings varies hugely as you might guess. I will
perform some basic volume leveling but so far I'm finding the .wav
files sound the best. The mp3's generated with LAME are much smaller,
but do loose some quality.. not good when you're starting with old
casette tapes that were recorded on who knows what kind of home
equiment.

It turns out that there is a copyright notice on the liner notes to
some of the tapes, but not on the tape or case.

Who in the world would I contact to find out if I can just post these
on a web site for folks to download?

Thanks,

Ed

The only way to find out, might be to post them and wiat until you get a
cease and desist notice from a parasite lwayer.
