Re: Lawrence Welk plays Saturday eves on PBS

Ha haaaa, yeah...Bobby Burgess used to have that effect on me, but I
was finally able to appreciate even his talents.

Ok, with that, I'm out of here. I discovered newsgroups and RMMS
throught DejaNews, which was taken over by Google, which I've continued
to use to read this forum and others up to now.

Today I discovered that Google is shedding it's neutrality and giving
financial backing to a struggling political candidate in the upcoming
election, which for me is unacceptable (Okay, the candidate's not on my
team, so I guess I'm a hyppa....hippoc.......I guess I have loose
standards), which means no more gmail acct, no more googletoolbar, no
more orkut, and no more using Google to access NG's for me.

Til I discover another way to get onto this board (I really am that
unsavvy), happy squeezing and good luck to all.

I can hep to The Three Suns, but I can't, for the life of me, watch
Welk or appreciate Floren. It's cultural, I mean it has to do with what
my parents watched on Saturdays. It's political. It's my age. Whatever.
Just can't get around it.

Yeah, I used to feel the same way but I got in the habit of watching
it and learned to enjoy it. The "primped, prim, and perky" female
vocalists are hard to get by and some of the acts (particularly m/f
vocal duets) are really sappy, but there's good music, often. And
Floren (and occasional other guest accordionists) are really sharp.
It's often cornball and *always* polyester 70's, but I like it.
(umm maybe I should go lie down in a cool dark room now.)
