Jet most certainly did have a bad car crash - a day or two after
"Applejack" was released, (in a car with his girlfriend Billie Davis).
Jet suffered very bad head injuries which have dogged him ever
since. (The bus which the car hit was written-off.)

However - my point was not to write a potted-hostory, but to
say that Bruce and Hank "started out" like any other 16 year-olds:
They were contracted up to the eyeballs and were told what to
do and when and where to do it.... They most certainly
did not "always own" the Shadows....

In his book "Rock 'n' Roll I gave you the best years of my life"
Bruce writes of *not speaking* to Hank for ten whole years....
Bruce also "left the band" because of his break-up with Olivia
Newton John - leaving Hank and John Farrar out on a limb.....

I did not "gloss over" hiring and firing at all: The Shadows were
first "The Drifters" and had to hastily change their name as legal
action was threatened by the US Drifters. Legend has it that Jet
had mentioned that the band were like Cliff's shadow, following
him around everywhere, and the name stuck. At that time,
names like Norrie Paramour had a bigger stake in "The Shadows"
than either Hank or Bruce.

You may be aware of the (now declining) "UB Hank", clubs, the
"Echo" magazine, and the host of guys, like Mo Foster, that were
involved in helping Jet make "The Phoenix Rises" CD. They know
Jet well. Better than you perhaps?

The late Jerry Lordan (composer of "Apache", "Wonderful Land"
etc.), appreciated how ill Jet was and told his wife Claudine
"Jet is down now but one day, like the phoenix, Jet will rise from
the ashes. When he does, give him The Pheonix".

I wish you well with your "horses mouth": However - I do not
think it was necessary or appropriate, for you to feel free enough to
make casual and slanderous remarks about any comparison
between him and George Best.

I do not intend to continue this any further: I have only posted this
much because you are yet again, making claims which are tantamount
to being (a) the font of all knowledge, (b) personal friends with
absolutely everyone (c) personal consultant to absolutely everyone,
about absolutely everything, and (d) "writing with good humour":
I hope Jet Harris appreciates your cutting wit.
