Is there any product or suggestion for locking down a keyboard? I'm
thinking of something like we use at work to lockdown computers to the
desk. It's a cable that goes through a steel eye that is permanently
mounted to the computer, then the cable is looped through an opening
on the desk and locked. I need this to keep the keyboard from
wandering off when I'm not paying attention to it.
If you could can you attach a plate(s) to the bottom, then screw or
bolt the plates to a table? Maybe a bracket around each end? Describe
the surface its mounted on - that would help suggestions be applicable.
I've found two good solutions, both adapted from computer lockdowns.
One style requires removing a screw on the piano and reinstalling it
with a special bracket that a cable can be threaded through. The cable
then obstructs access to the screw to prevent removal. The other
option is a pad that is attached to the back of the piano with a
special adhesive. In both cases a pad is attached to an adjacent file
cabinet using the same special adhesive. The pad has a fixture to
accept the cable and lock.
