One of my good friends and fellow drummer Eric Stuer and his wife
Debbie were killed in a one car crash in Lousiana:
this from the local press:
"Two people were killed Friday night in a wreck on Interstate 49 in
northern Natchitoches Parish.
Louisiana State Police say the tire blew out and the driver, Deoborah
Longoria-Stuer, lost control.
Routine toxicology tests are pending.
Longoria-Stuer was partially ejected and two passengers were totally
ejected.
Eric Stuer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Natchitoches Parish Coroner's Office will conduct an investigation
to determine the exact cause of death.
Jules Stuer received minor injuries and was treated at Willis Knighton-
North and released."
Eric was a long time infrequent participant of rmmp. He went by the
nickname Stu and his email address was Stu@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx He lived in
Dallas where he was an in demand percussionist and drum set artist.
His drumming website http://www.rhythmweb.com gives some insight into
how active and in depth a musician and educator he was. Eric was also
the drummer in the infamous Buster Brown Band of Dallas and preceded
me in the band. Here is some of Eric's funky drumming

Eric was in his fifties and went way too young. He will be sorely
missed by many musicians around the world. He leaves behind son Jules
and two other daughters, one only 14 years old. I'm sure they will be
needing financial help .
I will post further info about funeral arrangements and contribution
details as they come in
George Lawrence.
