NO! Just the opposite!
I had been playing my "reduced" kit in blues group. 18" tom as "bass
drum", two toms, snare, crash, ride, hat. As usual was using my Axis
bass pedal. Yes it's fast but not THAT fast. Eventually, I keep
looking for some decent fast "tom-like" licks on the "bass" but I just
couldn't cut it. Finally, I just had to give up the single pedal idea
and bring my old DW double. The first time I did that is instilled
major fear into the band! A DOUBLE PEDAL!!!! They all shouted. I
swear they all thought I was suddenly going nuts and into death metal
mode! They soon "got it" that my playing was virtually identical as
with the single pedal. The double was just there for a few accents and
nothing more. They quit worrying.
