Re: Ebay scammer question

Handling charges are bull***.

You got that right. I had a friend with a mail order business for a
while. He used to laugh and call "handling charges" another name for
"pure profit"!

Personally I read the ebay shipping charges very carefully. I never bid
on things with "handling charges" as some people get their profit right
from those when you think you are getting a bargain. I only got ripped
once when I noted the shipping charges but when the Ebay UPS calculator
came up on the screen it showed a lower charge which I mistakenly
thought was shipping. But that was EBAY's fault not the shipper who had
clearly listed the shipping cost. The difference was only a couple of
bucks though. I did notice that when I get stuff it is common for the
person to use USPS and the actually shipping cost was significantly
lower than the EBAY UPS listing. But hey, I don't care about that. If
they want to drive it over to my house and save it all that's OK as I
go by what they say charges are. But mailboxes etc. do charge an arm
and leg, and you ALWAYS need to be sure you have a shipping cost when
the seller goes that route.

So if the seller listed "professional shipper" you are pretty much
stuck with the high charges. Basically the seller said they don't want
to bother putting the thing in a box and you have to pay Mailboxes etc.
to do it. But that said, let me say that nasty abusive emails that
come for next to no reason are a bad sign and usually mean the seller
is running some kind of scam and is trying to cover it with bluster.
