Tom,
Just poking my nose in here for a sec even though I promised myself I
wouldn't post to RMMP while on sabbatical (my original intention was not
even to read, but that's out the window). To help out an ol' school RMMP'er,
it's all good...
Ebay has a "second chance offer", which allows you to sell the item to a
non-winning bidder. Here's the link.

And as for your non-paying "buyer", slam him with a negative, but wait 89
days so he can't get you back! Mark it on your calendar!
Hope it all works out for you, brother!

I know about about the 2nd chance offer, and actually am considering
it. But I had another party bid during the auction and then ask me if
I would add a monitor and include shipping, for a higher purchase
amount. Unfortunately the auction was running at the time so I
couldn't simply end it (there was no reserve, and there were bids),
but now that this didn't work out I may just sell it to him afterall.
The deal works out to about the same...
But thanks for the input.

FYI - you *can* end an eBay auction, even after it has bids. There's
restrictions about ending it within 12 hours of the end, etc, but for
the most part you can have an item listed locally and sell it outside
of eBay. The end process will simply cancel the exiting bids...
