OT: Funny story from last night..

Hey guys,

I just had to put this one out there just cause it was funny. Not sure
how many of you are familiar with Nashville and the way you make money down
in the Honky Tonks on Lower Broadway, but you get a base pay (very small
ranging from 20 to 100 bucks, depending on the gig). Along with that, a tip
jar is passed through the crowd several times during the night to add to
that.

Well, our bass player and I were standing off to the side waiting for
the previous act to finish up so we could swap the stage when they got some
little hot blonde to pass the tip jar one last time during their shift
(always a good idea)....Now, if you are a musician or about to play, the tip
people usually don't expect you to tip and understand you are in the same
boat....This chick asks for a tip and I said, "We are just waiting to play
next." Her response was, "So what, I was on American Idol last year, TOP
TEN!!!"

Not sure who this little prima donna was, but nice to see she has
found gameful employment passing around a tip jar at a bar.

Maybe one day, maybe (but doubtful) the music business will get away
from this micro-managed, find a singer through reality TV crap and get back
to real bands and singers that have actually paid their dues playing gigs!!!
