Nice, you might have to spend more time at the gym to compensate for the
extra workout you're no longer getting........

I get sick of hauling cases and hardware to a 2 hour rehearsal. Drummers
are always first there, last to leave. By the time you pack the van, get
there, set up, tear down, get home and unpack, it's like half a day
wasted for rehearsal pay.
(No, if they were paying cartage, I wouldn't care!) :-)
So I looked into an Arbiter Flats kit or a Purecussion Rimset, but those
things can get expensive.
Then I figured I'd make a nesting kit that would all fit into the bass
drum with latches.
Instead, I go to Gutter Center and pick up a cheesy *way low end* Asian
stencil 3 piece for $150. 20/12/15 and 13 snare (sucks). The funny part
is, these things sound much, much better than they should. The stock tom
heads are durable and thick and the kick drum is passable with the lousy
stock head. With a good head, it'll probably sound good.
I mounted a cymbal arm mount on the floor tom shell, and two cymbal arm
mounts on the bass drum shell.
It all fits on a dolly, with a rubber trash can to hold the toms and a
snare, and the cymbal bag acts like a lid. My only stands are hi-hat,
snare, and throne, and they all fit under the dolly with straps.
One trip from the van, one trip back.
I'm set up in about five minutes.
I don't care about dings or scratches or rain or whatever.

I might actually make a version out of nice shells.
