Here is a pretty cool video where Ludwig/Roland /BFD are compared. Its
a pretty lengthy video about 20 minutes, but I enjoyed it!

I'll watch it at some point, but I presume it becomes apparent that there's no 'artificial' drum sound that compares to BFD? I have it and all three packs (8-bit, XFL and Deluxe), and it's the best soft instrument out there. I posted my band's demo on here about a year ago, and a lot of people complimented my on the tightness of my playing and asked what my gear was because it sounded really nice, and were very surprised when I told them that the whole thing was programmed with a mouse. If you know how to program you just can't tell, and it sounds better than 99% of us could probably get with a real kit miked up.
