You can't make a call like that based on one tune Jake. Really, there's
no need to try to make that call anyway.

Stanton's version is sonically inferior to my ears because it sounds like it
was recorded on a Walkman from the back of the hall. It's ard to tell
exactly what he's doing and hear the intricacies of his touch from that
recording. Rodney's version sounds a good bit cleaner and more clear.
Personally, as far as the performances go I dig Stanton a bit more on this
track because he has a less "edgy" feel happening. Rodney is way up on the
front of the beat and sounds like he's trying to push it a bit too much for
my ears. I just sampled a few seconds of each one and didn't listen to the
whole tracks but that's my initial impression.


Both of them are incredibly talented drummers and they both play so good its
just stupid. You're comparing apples to oranges. I like em
both.
