Looking for a beefy snare drum

I heard a guy playing a Pearl Steve Ferrone snare drum recently and I loved
the way it sounded. Deep and fat with body and crack and I'm looking for
something like that.

I know this has been discussed here before and from what I can gather the
design of this drum is based on the Ludwig Black Beauty and there are
several similar drums out there. So,
- what are some other options
- what's anyone's take on the Ferrone
- what's a reasonable street price for a used Ferrone
- etc.
