Re: Podcast Idea

http://www.webopaedia.com/TERM/p/podcasting.html

Basically it's a syndicated radio show, but rather than being syndicated to
other broadcasters, it's syndicated directly to users. It's a file that's
downloaded and listened to on the user's iPod (hence "podcasting"), but
other mp3 devices and desktop computer programs support it, too. Every time
the podcast is updated, it is downloaded directly to the subscribers by
their podcast software (iTunes, for example) for listening at their leisure
by.

I've got a bunch of ideas about regular features on the show including:

-- A submitted tunes segment (possibly the bulk of the show) where
subscribers can submit their music for broadcast.

-- A "shoutback" section where subscribers could review the music that's
been played, let us know what they think, etc.

-- A segment for instruction. I've talked to my friend Ted MacKenzie (the
guy who just revised the Buddy Rich's Snare Drum Rudiments book) and he's
willing to contribute. Plus, I know there are some crazy good players and
instructors in RMMP that could contribute...

--An interview segment. This would hopefully be with knowns, not so knowns,
and the rest of us.

--Reviews

-- Other suggestions? Anyone? Bueller?...Bueller?...Bueller? :)
