My Amp Sucks... Recommendations?

So, I'm in need of a new amp.

After playing with a Marshall Valvestate 8080 amp for many years now,
an amp I've realized I'm not too crazy about, I think it's time to
just shed this baggage and find something that really cooks.

So, I turn to you, my fellow guitar players here on the board. I play
a lot of hard rock and blues and some clean stuff (sometimes with
chorus). I thought about picking up a Fender M-80 on eBay, but
barring that, anything that sounds killer and might even constitute a
really good bang for the buck would be ideal.

Any good recommendations that won't break the bank? Thanks very much
for the your help.
