Clapton's tone? I always thought his tone thru Marshallswas good, but
that's about it for me... "Crossroads: tone is prettygood, IMO. I'm no EC
expert... I was listening to Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Skynyrd,Aerosmith, Queen,
Early Journey, Trower, Styx, et al, in the 70's... What doI know about
tone?
If that was your album collection then I'd say you know
tone. I'm listening to Queen as I type this.
I always had a top 10 albums thing going on in High School with my
collection. Those are the ones I listened to the most. Oh forgot Montrose
(1st album) and Jeff Beck (Blow By Blow), Beatles too... I listened to all
those bands and their respective early albums than ANY other, ever since.
Most of those tones were probably Non Master Volume tones (lotsa'
Marshalls)...
Freddy
Mercury could sing.
The dude was great... Hadda have balls the size of (insert something here)
to put his schtick together with rock guys. What a great frikkin' band that
was.
