It is and it isn't. How many grisly rapes and murders to you want to
skim to get to that new recipe? Just an example.
It doesn't matter. There will always be awful crimes committed and
many children die of starvation every single day. I care about all
that, of course, but I don't have to read about it every day. I skip
most crime news. I feel bad about it, but my reading the stories is
not going to bring them back to life.
That's great. Can you imagine if we were all in one room and we had
to listen to everything being said between Joe Finn and Joey, for
example? What a waste of time and unpleasant.
I disagree completely. I would absolutely love to sit and chat with or
listen to every single person in this newsgroup if they were real
humans sitting in a room with me. That would be great.
Yes, maybe in a controlled manner. But if I was forced to listen to
every rant and comment made on this group, it would be a collosal
waste of time! I would love to meet most people on this group too,
but that's not the same as having to sit and listen to all that is
being typed in this group from beginning to end.
I would most definitely NOT want to have to do that.
If this is all irrelevant and not really a problem. I'm unsure why
you're writing so much about it. I mean first we had a relatively
benign statement of how long the "newsmongers" would be involved in all
the irrelevant (to us) details of Michael Jackson's death.
Well, actually, this goes beyond MJ, I admit. My 'rant' is about the
complaints about everything; pop culture, American Idol, TV, video
games and all that and now MJ.
My point is that it is not difficult to live without these
distractions. Clay Moore is a great example of that. So this is not
so much about MJ than about a more general comment about how people
seem to complain about so much that is so easily dealt with.
What about drugs? This, as far as I'm concerned, is much more
damaging than any of the other things (from my experience growing and
watching kids go bad) but nobody wants to deal with it because it is
hard to deal with...
There are no easy scapegoats for the drug problem; how can we blame
government when it's already illegal?!
