The video of Pat is FANTASTIC. Great stuff and WELL WORTH LEARNING.
Unfortunately the guy that transcribed it knows NOTHING about triad
spellings. He's doing things like spelling a simple Ab triad G# C D#!
When
you start spell things incorrectly like that, it makes music a real PITA
to
sight-read. iTZ aZf Uhadt 2 rEde inG gLeSH wEAR eV RiTh INGsPeld
Rong!!!!!!!! Totally maddening. I printed it out but wound up throwing it
in the recylcing. Easier to just transcribe it yourself if you really
want
to learn it.
Hi,
good remarks!
So, triads spelling have been corrected on the transcription!

Hope my criticism didn't seem to harsh. I just found it very frustrating
trying to read that.
This is a BIG improvement! I'm printing it out right now. I still see a
few spelling problems with some diminished triads. Let me proof the whole
thing and I'll email you with the correct spellings.
Another pet peeve of mine (but I know that I'm going up against the whole
guitar publishing industry with this one) is including TAB but not
fingerings. In my mind, FINGERINGS are far more important. When you've got
TAB down below, it makes it more difficult to read because you're having to
look at TWO things (reading the notes and then checking against the TAB to
see if you're in the right position). I always wind up writing in my own
fingerings and ignoring the TAB.
But of course in the publishing industry they love TAB for a couple good
marketting reasons:
1) They can sell more books (since so many guitarists are poor readers)
2) The books sell for a higher price since adding TAB doubles the number of
pages and a 100 page book sells for almost twice as much as a 50 page book.
So I suppose if you want to sell books, don't listen to me. I know that I
was forced into using TAB when I did those arrangements for Mel Bay, but
left to my own devices, I'd rather not see ANY TAB. I find that it's
actually more DIFFICULT to read than standard notation.

Rick Stone
