Got it first time but thanks anyway. Interesting to compare this with
the audio bootleg of a Metheny lesson. Both players spend most of
their time talking about rhythm. Raney's little dig at Joe Pass for
what he perceived as 'flat-footedness' is echoed in Metheny's
complaint about a prominent sax player's time feel.
Raney had that opinion, it's clear. It relates to what he liked and
didn't like. But Pass's Pacific Jazz-era playing speaks for itself.
Impossible to top.
