Thought you should see these vids.
Thanks!
The first one he's playing double stops for most of it,
then lets the bow drop and plays some amazing pizzicato,
with some "rasgueado" or pipa technique.

Hows does he use the bow for the double stops?
I haven't seen it yet, but you can get double stops by both pressing the bow down and turning the tip up. The finger is holding both strings parallel anyway.
Now having seen it, It doesn't look that tough, but of course playing it this *well* is tough altogether. I can't be sure but i think he may even be fretting them at different locations with two fingers. I can barely wrap my brain around that. I'm probably wrong on that.
The next one he talks a bit,
then demonstates wah-wah erhu followed by an echo effect.
Beautiful!

I'm quite surprised that the wah-wah sounds so, well, appropriate. That's a tough thing to say about a wah-wah almost anything.
I don't speak Chinese, so I wonder what he's saying.
If he's talking about pick ups or a contact mic, or where to put it.
I'd like to know.
Don't look at me--I barely know how to hold the thing. But it does remind me of one of my stock lines: It only takes 15 minutes a day and in a couple of years you're playing. It's not like we don't all have 15 minutes that would normally be wasted some 20 or 30 times every day.
That said, I still only spend about 15 minutes a month on erhu.
