5 to 8 at my normal restaurant gig, light jazz and standards using backing
tracks, nice dinner music. $125.00 plus tips, plus a 5 course lobster
dinner for the wife, son and myself. 20 minutes from my home.

Usually someone posts something about NYE gigs in this group by now.
Is live music doing that bad?
I have the same gig I've done for the last 4 or 5 years- a big band
gig at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.
It's pretty painless- no rock, just swing dance charts and some small
group things with whatever singer(s) show up.
Four hours, 9-1 pays $375 or maybe $400 with a raise.
Thankfully, there's no noisy keyboard player on this band, so at least
I have the freedom to do whatever I want.
