Hi all,
you know I'm new to the Jimmy Bruno Guitar Institute and am a fan of
the site as well as Jimmy. Some of you have wondered what the lessons
look like and how the site works and if Jimmy actually responds.
Here's a screen shot of a recent lesson he posted for soloing on Blue
Bossa (using E flat shape, etc). what's interesting is he teaches us
all the basics we need to know about soloing..it was about 35 minutes
of material over 3 "lessons". It's very deep and he breaks it all
down nicely. We've been told the price is going up in July, but
nobody will tell us how much. I've been searching the forums, but no
one knows.

This is the screen shot..pretty high quality technology etc. very
cool.
OK, I don't get it. And first of all, let me say that I've enrolled in the
Jimmy Bruno Jazz Guitar Institute for three months, and I think it's well
worth the $45. Jimmy's clearly a great player and a committed teacher and
I think he's got some great ideas.
But..

So it appears that CalJazz48 is Patricia Butler, who is part of the staff
at the JBGI, and one would think that someone who's on the staff wouldn't
have to "search the forums" to see if the price is going up or not.
My conclusion is that CalJazz48 is a shill for Jimmy's online lessons. If
that's not the case, let me be the first to profusely apologize. If it is,
let me say to Jimmy Bruno that everyone in this newsgroup has the utmost
respect and admiration for you as a player and a teacher, but we really
don't need this thinly veiled spamming to decide if we want to be a part
of your institute. I'm not, and never will be, a musician of Jimmy's
caliber, and I wish him the greatest of success with these online lessons
- and I think he'll have it. And if he should decide to post now and then,
as others have done with their books and such, and say "I have these
online lessons, I think they're great, you should try them," I have no
problem with that. But when someone comes on the newsgroup and represents
themselves as something they're not, that troubles me.
