Hey you all...I am thinking about adding the Roland GK3 to my Heritage

ahead and buy one?
THANKS
Vince
I think the GK3 is horrible. Maybe because I installed it myself. So,
either get it professionally installed or get an iGuitar or something
that has it built in. When I tried an iGuitar in the store the
tracking was much better than the GK3, but again I'm not an
installation wiz, though I did my best reading the horrible
instructions and trying to understand all the little stickers, screws
and pieces they give you. The issue of getting it balanced across
strings is the hardest to get right especially if the guitar body has
any curvature to it. Then you need all sorts of shims and little
pieces to tuck under one side etc.

Vince, I'll agree with Dan on installaiton... screwing it right into
the wood as you have to do with Strat type guitars is by far the best
way to get the pickup balanced across strings. The GK3 does have a
small set-screw to allow fine tuning of indivdual magnet hieghts.
Installing it on a Gibosn LP or archtop means you have to use shims to
get it right. Takes longer to install, but the package comes with
everything you need. You might just have to iterate through the
install severla times to get it right.

Thanks guys..
I appreciate the honesty and experience you all have had..
Sounds like it is just going to take some patience and tweaking if I
go that way. I am always playting my carved tops and have the H140
sitting in the case, so I thought it would be put to better use if I
can get it set up for transcribing arrangements etc.
