Re: Devoloping your Market

I guess the general nature of your original post led me to believe
otherwise.

If you're playing 250 decent-paying gigs a year and making a good living as
a jazz musician there's absolutely nothing I have to say that will be of any
value to you whatsoever. Had that been included in the original post, I
would not have said a thing.

My hat is off to you, Sir. Congratulations on reaching a reasonable degree
of success in a very difficult profession! I will be watching for YOUR
advice on developing a market.

I'll also be keeping an eye out for links to your clips. I'm sure you have
quite a bit to teach both myself and others.

Sincerely,

-The Chickenhead

.. i am a professional musician with a master's degree to boot. i'm just
casual in here.
maybe it's a generational thing. email grammar is different.
i'm not gonna spell check here. and i'll type conversationally.

again, thanks for your input, but i have already played almost 70 gigs
this year.
i get the gigs because i am professional with the clients,
and with the leader when i'm a sideman.
i've worked in corporate america too; i know the game.
i make my living playing music.

i wasn't asking how to find a gig.
but, maybe your info will be helpful to someone just getting started.

most of the world doesn't know who joe pass is. so they couldn't
possibly care about his typing.

in fact, no one really answered the question asked.
except doug.
hire a publicist.

typos and all.
