Yes.

Cassette tape.
Charlie tapes the lessons on 1 side and you tape the homework on the other side.

You'll probably have to stick to that format.
At the very least you'll need a cassette player to play the lessons he sends you.
But maybe he'd let you record the homework to CD.
I don't think he's real computer or tech savvy.
