xp sp2. I've tried both 1.0 and 1.1 of their drivers.
Nothing in the event log. Roland's software and support are awful. This is
absolutely the last roland product I will buy. The Edirol super-quartet
software I bought also has issues. They apparently are very poor at software
development or they farm it out and the contract doesn't call for support
issues. Their customer support consists of an email-bot which is very poor
at diagnosing through keyword detection. I already ran into this with the
super-quartet stuff.
I'm going to return the gi-20 or sell it on ebay

Jack, that's a tough one to diagnose. What operating system and service
pack level are you running, and what version of the driver are you
trying to install?
Look in your system temp folder to see if the installation may have
created a log file that sheds a bit more insight into the problem. You
could also check the event logs to see if there's any related entries.
Your best bet would probably be to contact Roland and see if they have
the solution as you're probably not the first one to run into the
problem.

Anyone else have this problem? The software tells me at the very end of
the
install that the GI-20 was not installed properly and that the system
cannot
find the file specified. Unfortunately, this is happening both installing
from the CD as well as a temporary folder that I used to download the
latest
drivers from Roland. Also, it doesn't tell me what the filename is that
it
cannot find!?!
