Yeah, I'm with you there Woland99.

I checked out the gearpage, and yeah there's some good players over there,
and yeah everything's nice and on topic and organized and follows the rules.
It's kind of boring.

I like having the occasional OT thread, as long as it's marked and/or the
thread title matches the subject. I don't read half the threads here
anyways, OT or not. I like a little distortion in my tone. I LIKE having
the occasional political or religious discussion. Most of the cats around
here are pretty intelligent. Since they're jazz guitarists, I probably have
more in common with them than just about anyone else. I WANT to hear what
they have to say on other topics.

If we started getting slammed with BS and spam by non-participants, that'd
be different. 90% of the time we're doing a fine job of self-moderation.
If I wanna' call someone an ***, I don't need no stinkin' moderator
deleting my post and threatening to ban me.

We do not need censorship. As long as people post OT stuff
clearly marked. The only time I would vote for moderator is if
were hit by heavy spamming or other repeated bulk malicious
***. O/w it is stick and stones - I skip most of the threads
here anyway so skipping few extra OT threads is not a big
deal. And I'd rather talk with real people (even though they
may be assholic or obnoxious sometime) than in some PG13
sanitized moderated room.

Try the gearpage. Similar crowd (along with some rockers) but much more
civil due to it being moderated.
