Hack,
Get yourself a $4.00 Planet Waves guitar strap extender to go around
the nut area of the neck like you would use with an Es-175 or flattop
that doesn't have a neck strap button.
It attaches to the hole in your neck strap and with a clip attaches to
the part that's on the nut area of the neck.
That way, the mod if easily reversible, you don't have to change your
Yammie, and you can use it on other guitars.

I have been playing mostly my Yamaha AEX-1500 lately. I usually play
sitting on a stool - partly habit, partly laziness, partly cos' I'm 65.
I think playing standing up would have a better "look," since the horn
player(s) and bass player are all standing. I tried playing standing
up a couple of weeks ago, and it felt all wrong. I think part of it is
that the strap button is on the back of the heel of the neck which
seems to cause the top of the guitar to tip away from me.
SO - I'm wondering if I should put (move?) the strap button on the
underside of the middle of the neck heel - where is on my Taylor.
That's closer to the C.G. of the guitar and I was thinking it would let
the guitar at a more natural angle.
Opinions? Am I making too much of this? (Even my kids claim I'm anal
- as if they know anything.)
Thanks in advance.
