I agree that the sound module sounds weak, but I think the strength of
the thing is its tracking abilities.
If, as Kevin as mentioned upstream, the "tracking" done on the guitar
can be done on a Brian Moore, or any other guitar using RMC piezo or
GK2a pickups, then sends the same signal down the pipe, then the
tracking isn't better or worse on an Axon, it's the same thing.

No, it's not the same thing. The hex signal going into the axon or
roland unit from the pickup is the same. What processing is done with
that singal to translate it into "tracking" is NOT the same. The
tracking happens when the unit transforms the signal from the hex
pickup into midi (or whatever else) and uses it to trigger synth
sounds.
