A question Todd, If you can get the data' directly into a computer
by a midikeyboard controller (that costs as low as $99 or so) why
can't you do the same with a midi guitar (or midi ready hex pickup
and even a 13pin to USB cable) without using, lets say a GI-20 at
all?
I wish they had a direct source pickup to computer, so you would
"not" have to buy a GI-20 or whatever.. What is your take on this?

Eventually there will be software programs that do in a PC what the Axon
or the GR units do. I don't think it's out there yet though.

It will involve either using USB from the guitar's hex pickup, like some
of the Brian Moore guitars are doing, or it will involve some sort of
other interface that translates the hex pickup's output to something the
computer understands.

I see no reason why the Axon's functions could not be accomplished on a
PC or a laptop. There would probably be an advantage too in that, if
using a software synth as well, the latency could be brought down even
lower than it already is.
