thoughts?

The music industry's biggest problem is that the music they promote is
not that good. My kids like some rap but mostly like the classic rock
they hear in the background of their video games, and now exposed, like
the bands represented there, as well as decent new bands like Green Day
(real songs). Can't they just find some better music to promote?

I can go to any "indy website" featuring 'unsigned bands,' that will
blow most of the 'signed and promoted bands' away in a heartbeat.

Also, I just watched a wonderful Jeff Beck video someone posted the
link to on this site. It was free of charge and I assume perfectly
legal. Heck, just checking out the links to free music (and music
videos) posted to this site everyday day, is enough to keep one busy.

Also, CD and most download prices are way too high. 99 cents per song
is completely ridiculous considering now they don't even have to make
the packaging or the cd itself. It should be no more than 30 cents a
track.

I agree, and hopefully it will eventually come down to that price
point or even less. As with any technology over time- Classic case
being the first consumer calculators that retailed for something like
$200 when they first came out. Now I can buy one for $5 at Walmart
that probably has more functionality.
