Funny, a keyboard palyer friend of mine just sent me an MP3 of Herbie's
solo on that tune. It is really, really sick. Fusion at its finest. The
Creed Taylor production doesn't bother me that much. I wasn't around
back then and therefore don't have any bad memories of the "CTI Sound",
it sounds rather quaint to me actually. IMHO Herbie's solo blows away
GB's, although I'd agree it's one of the best GB solos I've ever heard
[make the inferences = flame away <g>].
