Expense and poor availability, I would imagine.

A few years ago I tried a 15W Goldtone and was blown away by it. Almost
mortgaged the cat to buy it (1000 euros!), but luckily the shop on the
other side of the road had a secondhand German 30W class A valve combo for
half the price, so I bought that. Haven't regretted it!
