Notable to me that you post this. The past month or so I have been
ruminating on related topics a great deal. I have two, very powerful
words for you:
MEDITATION
SELF-HYPNOSIS
Both, I know, smack a bit of being wishy washy (depending on who you
are). I assure you, neither is.
Meditation, of couse, has been in regular, effective use since ancient
times. It's very un-American. It's not the sort of thing you necessarily
find immediate benefit from, though most people, in fact, do, assuming
their efforts are guided and focused. Regular practice of meditation
will yield not only an overall, general sense of grounded well being,
but will also open up parts of your mind (and heart) you didn't know or
forgot existed.
Self-hypnosis and meditation are essenntially about the same thing:
self-mastery. With each, one attempts to live more decisively and
purposefully by learning to guide one's subconscious, the underpinning
of all done with the conscious. There are many titles available for
teaching yourself hypnosis--I have one called Self-hypnosis in Two Days.
Doesn't need to be special, just enough to get you going. With
meditation, it will pay off to learn from or start with others who've
been doing it for a while.
Proven, real-world, real-life, effective, lasting, deep results.
Everything from heroin addiction to obesity to memorization for exams to
top-notch performance for athletes. And musicians.
