Hi Joe. I feel your pain my brother! Among the many guitars that I let get away, the one that I sure miss now is my Les Paul Signature. Double
cut-away, semi-hollow, low,(iirc) impedance p/us, Varitone, In/Out phase
switch. Not so pretty maybe, gold-top, cream colored plastic p/u covers,
although the back was a georgeous dark tobacco brown. Recording
engineers *loved* that axe. I wasn't playing Jazz in '83 but I daydream
what that thing might've sounded like with heavy Thomastiks, Clarus,
etc...Got some photos of it somewhere. I think from a gig at CBGBs',
'81. Cheers, RDS
.

I understand so well how so many people come to the conclusion that suicide is the only solution to their pain, and that killing is the only solution to their relative's pain - even if the relative can't express a desire for it or, as in your mother's case, doesn't want it. ... My brother was disabled with cerebral palsy since very early childhood, and in very poor health for the last ten years or so. ... My brother and his primary caretaker knew people who found the whole thing - not just the disability and pain, but the being bounced from institutions to group home to home and back again depending on health and current government fashion in supporting the disabled, the battle for things to make life a little easier; a little more pleasant; the effort to get funding to have someone to stay overnight in case the ventilator shuts off and you suffocate, the sheer terror at the thought of what will happen when the elderly relatives filling the gaps in care die - so terrible that they chose suicide. ...
