I posted a review of the JamMan on Harmony Central a few weeks ago, and

buying a looper.

From reading your review the JamMan looks ideal except for the
inordinate amount of pedal pressure needed to start recording. Like
you mentioned, it should be feather light. I'm glad you posted that
review, because it saved me buying.

I just returned the JamMan I bought. I liked it a lot at first but there were two really annoying things about it:

1. The switch is, as you say, really a pain and I just couldn't get the timing perfect with it consistently, though I was getting better at it.

2. It sucked tone big time to my ears. I don't/can't gig, so I just intended to use this for practice. But a few weeks after using it I realized that I just wasn't digging my sound at all and hadn't been for a while. I was considering returning the JamMan anyway just because I didn't use it as much as I thought I would, but then when I removed it from between my guitar and amp and notice the huge difference (for the better) in tone, I immediately requested the RMA# from zZounds to return it.

All in all I would love to have a looper device because of the practice possibilities but for $300 I just couldn't live with the switch or tone suck. I will probably scoop up a Boss RC and try it out one of these days to see if that's a better fit for me.
