I'm a long-time 335 user. It's my desert-island guitar, for sure. I have
two right now, one I keep strung with 10's and one with 11's. I believe a
335 is at its very best with 10's...Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Chris Cain.
But to approach a more traditional jazz sound, 11's work fine. I have found
12's to be too muddy in the bass.
Since I use George L cables, I have found that a right-angle plug works just
fine on a 335, but it is sort of a pain in the *** with a standard straight
plug.
They are great guitars, aren't they?
