Installing a new OS from an upgrade CD is not that big a deal, as long as
you have the media for your old OS. Simply reformat your hard drive (so
it's blank), then start the install process from the WinXP CD. It will look
for an old OS to upgrade, and when it doesn't find it, it'll prompt for
media from your old OS. Swap CDs, setup verifies that you're legal and will
ask you to swap the CDs back. Away you go with your "upgrade," and you have
a clean, shiny new OS to work with.

I agree that Newegg is a great place to shop. I buy all my parts from them.
They've now supplied parts for about 6 different computers that I've built.
Their service is great, and their prices are almost always the lowest. They
don't ding you too bad on shipping, either.
