Try something like this:

It's a $350 guitar here in the US, and I found a new one for about 3/4
that price on ebay. Great sound plugged in, still a decent sound when
not. Retrofitting is, IMHO, not worth it unless you've got a high-end
acoustic and are willing to spend some money on your electronics.

OK, now that I'll be singing "out" I?m of a mind to open-mic it a bit
both for the enjoyment and for the practice it?ll give me in a live
setting (function band I have joined as singer gigs very
infrequently)
I have a huge pet-hate of the metallic clanky sound that some even
very posh electros put out. The end guitar need not have anything in
terms of natural acoustic sound as this?ll be for amplimafying. (the O-
M nights round here have house PA but not instruments for general
use)
Options :
1. A super-cheap electro : if anyone knows of one of the budget brands
or models that puts out a decent electro signal, lets hear about it
2. A pickup for my Aria dreadnaught : it?s a full acoustic (was about
£180 new about 7 years ago iirc) so I don?t know if this might be a
faff in terms of feedback susceptibility ? If more knowledgable folk
think not then lets hear budget pickup options (no brittle clankiness
though if at all possible!)
3. Other suggestions?

Tim
